دیدگاههای زبانآموزان در مورد مفهوم فرهنگ و بازتاب آن در آموزش زبان انگلیسی به دانشجویان ایرانی الهه ستودهنما سوسن مرندی پریسا مهران[1] تاریخ دریافت: 1/4/91 تاریخ تصویب: 11/9/91 چکیده در آموزش زبان انگلیسی، فرهنگ از اهمیت ویژهای برخوردار است و تدریس یا عدمتدریس آن همواره مورد بحث بوده است. هدف از پژوهش حاضر، بررسی عقاید زبانآموزان ایرانی زبان انگلیسی دربارة تدریس و یادگیری فرهنگ مقصد (آمریکایی یا انگلیسی) در آموزش زبان انگلیسی میباشد. همچنین، این پژوهش سعی بر ارائة تعریفی از فرهنگ بر اساس عقاید زبانآموزان ایرانی زبان انگلیسی دارد. بهمنظور رسیدن به این هدف، هشتاد و نه نفر از زبانآموزان دورۀ لیسانس دانشگاه الزهرا(س) مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند. در این تحقیق، از روش پژوهش کیفی استفاده شده و دادهها، برای ایجاد سهگانه، از سه منبع اصلی پرسشنامه، مصاحبه و مشاهده جمعآوری شدند. نتایج نشان داد که زبانآموزان ایرانی زبان انگلیسی فرهنگ را بیشتر شامل عقاید، سنّتها، آداب و رسوم و روش زندگی میدانستند. بهطورکلی، زبانآموزان موافق تدریس و یادگیری فرهنگ مقصد هستند اما بر اساس نظر آنها، تدریس و یادگیری فرهنگ مقصد باید در راستای معیارهایی صورت گیرد. واژههای کلیدی:فرهنگ، تدریس فرهنگ، یادگیری فرهنگ، عقاید زبانآموزان [1] parisa_mehran@yahoo.com | ||

Iranian EFL Learners' Beliefs about Culture and its Reflection on Teaching English Language Parisa Mehran[1] Elaheh Sotoudehnama[2] Seyyedeh Susan Marandi[3] Received: 2012/06/21 Accepted: 2012/12/01 Culture has always been of utmost importance in English language teaching (ELT) and there are arguments for and against its teaching. This study was an attempt to explore Iranian EFL learners' beliefs about teaching/learning the target (i.e., American or British) culture in the realm of ELT; it also tried to arrive at a definition of culture based on the interpretations of Iranian EFL learners. To achieve this goal, eighty-nine undergraduate students from Alzahra University participated in the present study. In this study, a qualitative research method was used. To achieve triangulation, the data were collected from three main sources: Questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The findings revealed that the learners of this study mainly perceived culture in terms of beliefs, traditions, customs, and way of living. In general, the results of this study demonstrated that the learners supported teaching/learning the target culture in ELT but they believed some criteria should be taken into consideration.
